Knight Rider



Sheriff Moore is the former sheriff of Alpine Crest. He was once a good meaning officer of the law before becoming corrupt and deciding to protect wanted counterfeiter Ron Austin. He was later stopped by Michael Knight and K.I.T.T.

Background[]

Prior to 1982, Moore became sheriff of the town of Alpine Crest. It was around this time he turned from a trustworthy officer to a corrupt one.

Knight Rider (1982)[]

Sheriff Moore attended the crime free award ceremony for his town, witnessing Michael Knight attempt to obtain Ron Austin. Before being stopped by Deputy Hanks. He was later questioned by Michael on Ron's location, but Sheriff Moore lied and said he knew nothing about him.

He then lambasted Ron in his counties prison for coming out into the open and warned him to get out of his town once Michael Knight left. However, Michael decided to stay in Alpine Crest to further investigate Ron and his association to the Hallelujah Press.

Later, during a pursuit of Ron Austin, Michael was arrested by Sheriff Moore. Who criticized Michael's methods and reminded him that he was not a cop before leaving him in a cell. However, K.I.T.T. eventually rescued Michael.

Later, Sheriff Moore threatened Martha Haberstraw, a local reporter, that she needed to stay away from Michael or else. Through a well planned scheme, Michael managed to expose the sheriff's department's corruption while in hiding. Which eventually led to the arrest of the members through the state police's help.

Personality[]

Sheriff Moore is a condescending man who would rather keep up the lie that his town in crime-free rather than actually put in the effort to keep his town crime-free. He also criticized Michael for his investigative methods, telling him that he was not a cop.
