Background[]
Knight Rider (1982)[]
Sometime in 1949, Rupert Craig became a police officer of the Vista Beach Police Department. Eventually rising to the rank of chief of police. During his tenure, he grew tired of his position and eventually believed he was owed more for his time as a cop. Eventually, he began a spree of burglaries in the town and pretended to investigate them while pinning them on local street racer, Ron Prescott.
Eventually, F.L.A.G. operative Michael Knight was sent to the area to investigate these burglaries. With Chief Craig continually coming into conflict with him and attempting to arrest him for investigating him. Eventually, Michael discovered a link between a local radio station the timing of the burglaries.
This caused Rupert and his subordinate, Mace Beaudry to intervene and detain Michael to kill him. However, little did the chief of police know but K.I.T.T. was recording his confession of his crimes to Michael.
Later, after Michael escaped from Mace with the help of K.I.T.T. Chief Craig attempted to chase Michael down and kill him, to which K.I.T.T. aired his confession over the police radio. Resulting in the chief's officers to turn on him and arrest him when Michael headed to the police station.
Rupert Craig tried to plea with the officers, but they ultimately didn't listen to him and took him into custody.
Personality[]
Rupert Craig was an old fashioned police officer who didn't like receiving help from any outside agency. But did ask around to the State Police and FBI when running a report on Michael Knight. He also believed that he deserved more for being the town's chief of police for so long. Even resorting to a life of crime to get what he believed he was owed and killing or framing anyone who got in his way.
Skills[]
As chief of police, Rupert Craig is a highly intelligent individual with many decades of law enforcement experience. Able to fool Michael and K.I.T.T. into believing he was just some old fashioned and oblivious cop who disliked outside help.
