Mother, Juggs & Speed

20th Century Fox attempted to turn the film, Mother, Jugs & Speed into a television series, although none of the original cast participated. The program was titled Mother, Juggs & Speed with a double "g" because the network would not allow the lead female character to have a name that made explicit reference to her breasts. Instead, producers added the concept that Jennifer's nickname was taken from her real last name, Juggston. The series was not picked up, but ABC aired the pilot as a one-time special on Thursday, August 17, 1978.

Based on the film of the same name, this TV comedy series focused on the drivers of the privately owned L.A. ambulance company, "F and B"; longtime driver, 'Mother', guy's partner, 'Speed', and former dispatcher, now new in the cab, Jennifer, aka 'Juggs'.

The meaning behind the three title characters' nicknames had to be cleaned up for television. "Mother" was now known for his skill in delivering babies, "Juggs" (not "Jugs" as in the film) was short for the Juggston, and "Speed" was so-called because of his fast driving.
