Trivia[]
- The main premise of this episode is a play on Steven Spielberg's 1982 film, E.T. the Extra Terrestrial. The episodes working title was "KITT, Phone Home," a play on the phrase "E.T., phone home." In the episode, a confused KITT even mistakenly refers to Doug as "Elliot," the name of the boy who befriends the alien.
- Alice Nunn, who played the nurse, appeared in one of the 1980s most famous films, Pee-Wee's Big Adventure (1985), as the ghostly truck driver, 'Large Marge.'
Truth? The main premise of this episode was from a 1984 Knight Rider screenplay entitled "A Knight to Remember" written by Robert Rastelli.
