Eddie Dexter is the former owner of Mr. D's Marine, as well as the former owner of K.A.R.R. He was a former criminal at some point before turning over a new leaf. However, after meeting K.A.R.R., he decided to go back to that life. If only briefly, before being threatened by Michael Knight.

Prior to becoming the owner of Mr. D's Marine. Eddie was a criminal as he mentioned "being around" before. However, at some point he left this life behind him before opening up Mr. D's Marine and hiring John Stanton as his repairman.
Knight Rider (1982)[]
After many years as the owner of Mr. D's Marine, Eddie decided to retire and sell off his assets. However, John couldn't buy his business as he lacked the funds to do so. Seeing this, K.A.R.R. decided to sabotage Eddie's pacemaker, putting him in the hospital where he confessed that he was getting out and everything was for sale.
John wanted to accept Eddie's offer for his business, but ultimately couldn't because he still lacked the money to do so. After some help from K.A.R.R., John was able to get the money to buy Mr. D's Marine. However, Eddie suspected something was up and decided to join up with K.A.R.R. and John on a big gold heist.
However, John wanted nothing to do with it. Leaving the group. Eddie then prepared to rob the armored truck containing the gold with K.A.R.R. before Michael Knight and K.I.T.T. arrived and chased K.A.R.R. off. Michael then asked Eddie where K.A.R.R. was going before threatening him and leaving.
Presumably, Eddie left town and his business behind as he was not seen at the end of the episode after John and Mandy bought Mr. D's Marine and turned it into John's Marine.
Personality[]
Eddie was hardly a saint, although he wanted to help John out he was not above getting a big pay cut in exchange for his retirement. He was also willing to turn back to a life of crime after seeing the potential in using K.A.R.R.
