Captain Dave Butler is a desk officer of the Sinclair County Police Department, as well as friends of Sergeant Ted Wallace of the Lyndhurst Flats Police Department. He was a corrupt officer of the law who used his position to keep prisoners of the Lyndhurst Flats Police Department in the Sinclair County Correctional Facility. After Judge Ronald S. Paxton's operation was halted by the Foundation for Law and Government, Captain Butler's status remains unknown.
Biography[]
Knight Rider (1982)[]
Sometime before the start of the series, Dave joined the Sinclair County Police Department and rose to the rank of captain. He also became close friends with Sergeant Ted Wallace of the Lyndhurst Flats Police Department.
In 1982, David agreed to keeping Devon Miles in Sinclair County custody. That was when he was approached by Michael Knight and Carol Reston who came looking for Devon and Frank Reston. However, Dave gave them the work around and instead told them to return to Lyndhurst Flats.
Carol managed to reluctantly take Michael away as Dave told them goodbye sarcastically. He then phoned Ted and let him know that both Michael and Carol were looking for Devon and Frank and to be aware. Ted then thanked Dave.
Later, when Judge Paxton's operation within both police department's was stopped by the Foundation. It is unknown what happened to Dave and if he was arrested too given his association with Ted and the LFPD.

Dave is a snarky and manipulative person, who uses his position as a police captain against the innocent.
